Healthy and confident individuals

Children to recall the key events in the book 'Bumble Buzz'. Betsy and Blue organised a daily Bumble Buzz Fitness Class for all the bees in the hive to help them stay fit and healthy. Discuss with the children what keeping fit means.

The Bumble family live in Honeywood with lots of creatures with different features. They enjoy meeting each other and learning about everyones skills. Use the networking badges to encourage the young people to introduce themselves and share their likes/ambitions.

Use the template to encourage the children to think about a time they were brave, how it made them feel, and draw a picture of them being brave.

Use the presentation to think about what it means to be healthy. Learn about exercise and a balanced diet and how important these are to live a happy and healthy life.

Use these medical scenario cards to discuss in groups what the children would do in the situations, giving reasons for their answers.

Introduce the children to the words 'brave' and 'courageous'. Use the activities to encourage the children to be brave and confident. Encourage them to create poems and reflect on the times they have been brave and courageous.

She was great fun to work with, she was a quick learner, and she came up with exciting ideas! One day a worried Queen Beeatrice tells them both that she has just received some awful news that a terrible disease called Beezles is on its way to Honeywood very soon.
All the creatures in Honeywood will need to work together to try and help the bees and with Professor Baillie’s help, make testing kits, medicine, and a vaccine… but will they save the bees in time?
