Challenge the children to create a food diary for one whole week. Encourage them to choose healthy and balanced meals and to create a plan they can stick to at home with their family.

Challenge the children to complete a weekend food diary. Set some healthy and balanced meals and, when they return on Monday if they have stuck to their meal plan with their family.

Sort the foods into their food groups. Place the foods in either fruit and vegetables, protein, dairy, carbohydrates, fats and sugars. Discuss how some foods can be in multiple categories.

Use the presentation to learn about different food groups. Why foods are split into food groups and the importance of a healthy and balanced diet.

The children will be given images of foods and sorting worksheets. The children will sort the foods into healthy and unhealthy categories. Ask the children to label the foods and discuss the different food groups.

Print off the places and encourage the children to place the creatures in their habitats. Look at the different places and think about what creatures would live there and why.

Print off the labels. Encourage the children to match the labels to the places, and think about why they placed the labels where they did.

Use this lesson to learn all about habitats. Where animals live and why, and what creatures may live in a few different places. Use the cut out's to encourage the children to place the animals where they think that they live, and discuss why they would live there.
