The Bumbles of Honeywood have overcome lots of challenges over the past year. They fought off the nasty hornets, then recovered from the awful Beezles pandemic. Straight after that came ‘Storm Suzy.’ To lift everyone’s spirits, Bella and Bobby decide to organise a Honeywood Festival of Fun! Barry Bumble and his worker bees are asked to build a theatre, and Bella Bumble writes a play for the minibeasts to act on the stage. She loves writing exciting, fun stories. Bobby loves to make things, so he’s in charge of making all the costumes. The little bees ask for help from their friends to make the Honeywood Festival of Fun a huge success.

After learning about the importance of exercise, challenge the children to devise and run their own fitness class lasting 5/10 minutes. The children will work in small groups to plan, advertise and deliver their exercise classes to their peers.

Use the presentation to show examples of advertising for fitness classes. Discuss in groups what each of the posters had in common and what they liked. Make a list of the things they will need to remember when doing their own advertising posters.

Children think about the importance of friendship. They are tasked to design and make a photo frame ready to wrap for a person in the class to choose and keep.

Show the PowerPoint with examples of photo frame designs and discuss ideas and possible materials that could be used.

Use this lesson to encourage the children to think about friendship. Use the activities to think about what qualities make a good friend and how being a good friend makes others feel.

In small mixed ability groups children will be tasked with the challenge of reading some friendship scenarios and discussing possible solutions to the problems giving ideas where they might have done something different to show what it is to be a good friend.
